A SILK EMBROIDERED PICTURE

Probably England, early 19th c.

Depicting a woman resting beneath a tree, a small dog and flute at her side within an oval reserve, all worked in silk threads in shades of beige, brown, green and yellow and embelished with watercolor and ink, on a silk ground, eglomise mat, gilt frame. Some darkening, minor splits to ground. Sight: 12 x 10 in.
