The domed base, silver, of shaped oval form chased with scrolling foliage within a crimped egde and supporting the plated scale with two oval pans and a set of five weights in front. The base marked for London 1890; the scale engraved Howell & James/ Limited/ 5,7&9 Regent St. Parts by association. W.: 7-3/4 in.
