An American Empire Carved and Highly Figured Mahogany and Cherrywood Sideboard
Possibly Fleming County, Kentucky, Circa 1825

Height 44 x width 73 1/4 x depth 22 inches.

Note:
A near identical example, if not this exact sideboard, is illustrated in Edna Talbott Whitley's A Checklist of Kentucky Cabinetmakers from 1775 to 1859 with Addendum (1981: Paris, Kentucky), as illustration SS and is mentioned on pg. 4 of the illustrations section. Whitley identifies the sideboard as Fleming County and mentions that it comes from the collection of Mrs. Elizabeth Redd Gaitskill of Paris, Kentucky.

Another similar sideboard in form and woodtypes is illustrated in Genevieve Lacer and Libby Howard's Collecting Kentucky: 1790-1860, p. 322.
