Born in Chicago, John Storrs studied art in Germany, the Chicago Academy of Art in Boston, the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts in Philadelphia, and with Auguste Rodin in Paris. He collaborated on many projects with Louis Sullivan and Frank Lloyd Wright. He was a prolific sculptor and later a painter working in the avant garde style. His work in included in the collections of the Art Institute of Chicago, the Whitney Museum, the Metropolitan and the MOMA in New York.
