[SLAVERY & ABOLITION]. Manuscript bill of sale for enslaved African American children "Primus" and "Cuff." [Tennessee?], 24 December 1817.
7 5/8 x 3 3/16 in., creased with repair, small hole to lower left, clipped. Undersigned. Docketed verso.
"Recvd December 24th 1817 of John F. Martin Fourteen Hundred Dollars in full for my Two Boy's [sic] Primus & Cuff each about 16 years old, which boy's, [sic] I do hereby warrant & defend to him & his heirs. Witness my hand & Seal. / S.R. Harris (seal)."
