Lot Description

8 x 10 in. silver gelatin photograph (edge and corner wear, including some creasing). Manuscript notations and ink stamps on verso, including credit to Duane Braley and date. 

Gordon Parks (1912-2006) was a prominent photojournalist who documented issues of civil rights, poverty, and Black life, in addition to glamour photography. He is also remembered for creating the "blaxploitation" genre of films, becoming one of the first African Americans to produce and direct major motion pictures.
