the stepped backsplat rising in five tiers to a tightly wound scroll-form, carved with a red lacquered medallion decorate with a large peony blossom, all above a plain seatrest of thick burlwood waisted above an apron carved with undulating ribbons and slightly splaying square sectioned legs joined by posts.
