Two Chinese Carved Hardwood Brushpots, Bitong
20th Century
the first with slightly tapering walls, carved to the exterior in high relief showing a continuous scene with scholars underneath pine trees; the second of cylindrical form, the main panel carved with a mountainous landscape with scholars in a pavilion underneath pine trees.
Height of taller 6 1/2 x diameter 6 1/8 in., 16.5 x 15.6 cm.
