PRESENTATION COPY INSCRIBED BY FROST WITH FOUR-LINE VERSE FROM "BIRCHES", Frost concludes the verse with two lines at the end differing from the published poem, "When I see birches bend to left and right / Across the lines of straighter darker trees / I know I'm looking at the smaller birches / Of seacoast Maine, New Hampshire, and Massachusetts."
