Lot Description

[HARRISON, Benjamin]. Albumen photographs of Benjamin Harrison parades and processionals. 


6 3/4 x 4 3/8 in. albumen photograph on cardstock mount (toning, surface soiling, and some discoloration and wear to edges and corners; wear to mount edges and corners). Cortland, NY: L.E. Burnham, n.d. A large group of men stands outside of a log cabin bearing a sign reading, "Republican Headquarters / Harrison & Morton." A cow pulls a cart upon which a man rides, holding a sign reading, "Where, Oh Where Shall I Go They Don't Want Me in Buffalo." -- 8 1/4 x 6 1/8 in. albumen photograph on cardstock mount (some loss to upper right corner of margin; edge wear to mount, corners clipped). Verso with numerous modern printed labels and ink stamps identifying the photograph as the property of Culver Pictures Inc. Pencil inscription identifies image as depicting "President Harrison in New York for 1889 celebration of George Washington inaugural." -- And 2 others, including a composite cabinet card depicting the 10th National Republican Convention in Minneapolis, MN, 1892. -- Together, 4 mounted  images.
