Lot Description
[EARLY PHOTOGRAPHY]. Quarter plate daguerreotype featuring a portly gentleman with a cane, tentatively identified.
Quarter plate seated portrait of a rather large man sitting in an oversized chair, holding a cane between his legs. (Light spotting to plate, spotting to mat and preserver; unsealed.) Housed in a full pressed paper case (surface wear, some separation to spine, discoloration/soiling to satin pad). Modern note accompanying image tentatively identifies subject as "Abraham Noosum, Mt. Gilead Ohio, founder of Morrow County Ohio..." though this identity cannot be confirmed.
