[EARLY PHOTOGRAPHY] -- [MILITARIA]. PLUMBE, John (1809-1857), photographer. Sixth plate daguerreotype of a militia junior officer, likely American.
Sixth plate daguerreotype. (Few surface scratches and abrasions to plate, including small area near subject's right eye.) Housed in half leatherette case. Mat stamped "Plumbe." A seated portrait, likely of an American officer. The subject may be a militia junior officer, or possibly a naval officer with the rank of Master with collar folded over.
