Straps feature gold bullion borders and rank devices, blue velvet centers, and black silk backing. -- Approx. 2 7/16 x 2 in. officer's 1858 Pattern "U.S." wreath hat insignia (some tarnish to bullion, loss to velvet pile). Composed of gold and silver bullion embroidered on black velvet. Wreath approx. width 1 3/8 in. -- Two approx. 3 1/2 x 2 in. die-struck brass infantry hat insignia, 1858 pattern, loops soldered to verso (light tarnish, some surface wear). -- Together, 5 pieces of insignia.
