A Jade Inset Hardwood Table Screen
JADE: LATE MING TO QING DYNASTY
清 紅木鑲玉牌硯屏
having two jade plaques mounted in a vertical organization within a rectangular panel of undulating reticulated scrollwork set n a metered frame. The upper plaque of mossy celadon tone worked in relief with a cushioned border to show a recumbent mythical beast gazing towards crescent moon, the lower a thick sectioned component of a belt buckle, the white stone reticulated with arching chilong grasping a long lingzhi sprig; all set within an easel frame further housing a smaller panel mounted with a white jade plaque carved with a crane and lotus stem.
