Lot Description
[CIVIL WAR]. Sixth plate tintype of two soldiers armed with muskets and a Bowie knife.
Sixth plate tintype with hand-gilding. (Top corners rounded, creasing to right edge of plate, some surface mottling, focus a bit soft.) Housed in full, pressed paper case with geometric motif (some light edge and corner wear, donor brass).
A pair of unidentified early war Northern volunteers are seated in an identical pose. Each holds a musket, possibly early war-issue flintlocks.
