Lot Description
Pierre Cardin Haute Couture Wired Collar Lace Dress, 1987
Known primarily for his sculptural silhouettes and flat planes of color, Cardin’s intermittent use of lace in his oeuvre indicates a departure from his norm. Similar examples using horsehair bands and lace reside in the collections of the Philadelphia Museum and Metropolitan Museum of Art.
Haute Couture pink lace long sleeve dress with large front wired lapel backed with synthetic crinoline, a plunging back neckline, peplum hip flounce, long straight-fit skirt, and center back zipper closure with a matching attached pink fabric belt.
