A Large Japanese Bronze Incense Burner
LATE 19TH/EARLY 20TH CENTURY

the incense bowl in the shape of a bowl with a pair of phoenix head terminals, the body cast with shaped panels enclosing birds perched on flowering prunus, flanked by a pair of ingot-form pendants, raised above water issuing from the mouth of a crouching dragon, all supported on a rounded rectangular stand. 
Height 38 in., 96.5 cm.
