Two Chinese and Japanese Black Lacquer Boxes
19TH CENTURY

the first a Chinese lac-burgate circular box, decorated with a loving couple in a garden; the second a Japanese black and gold lacquer mother-of-pearl inlaid rectangular box, with relief decoration showing a figure, a shishi lion, a set of cloth and a fan.
Diameter of larger 3 3/4 in., 9.5 cm.
