Three Japanese Red, Gold and Brown Lacquer Boxes
19TH CENTURY

the first of circular form, the cover decorated in gold with a blossoming chrysanthemum on a nashiji ground, the second in the shape of a house with the roof forming the cover, the third a miniature barrel-form covered box, decorated in gold showing flower-heads and entwined vines against a nashiji ground. 
Diameter of largest 5 1/2 in., 14 cm.
