Lot Description
[CIVIL WAR]. Post-war broadside regarding Civil War soldiers' pensions. Washington, DC: 1887.
10 1/4 x 17 3/4 in. printed broadside (upper left portion fully separated from rest of broadside, some wear including small rips and tears to edges and corners, spotting). From the firm of Attorney Joseph H. Hunter, broadside informs readers that due to a new law, widows of soldiers killed in the Civil War who remarried are entitled to the sum of the value of the pension from the date of their previous husband's death to the date of marriage. Numerous letters of endorsement are exemplified along with his address.
