Green decorative box, 4 1/4 x 5 3/4 x 2 3/4 in., featuring lid inset with color illustration of a young Admiral David G. Farragut. Clipped signature of Farragut, ("D.E. Farragut"), 3 1/4 x 3/4 in., mounted into the back of the lid (toning, light soil).
[With:] 8 CDVs, including Confederates Jefferson Davis (no backmark); Robert E. Lee (backmark C.M. Van Orsdell, Wilmington, NC); Stonewall Jackson (backmark C.M. Van Orsdell, Wilmington, NC); Albert Sidney Johnston (no backmark); John Hunt Morgan (no backmark); and 3 unidentified CDVS with backmarks from S.C. Mouzon of Spartanburg, Hall's of Nashville, and J.R. Schorb of Yorkville, S.C. Condition generally good with expected toning, soil, and wear.
