Conditions vary, though most have light to moderate chipping to edges, surface wear, and surface soil. 

Cases contain images of women and couples, including a tintype portrait of a couple posed with their heads touching (crazing, darkening to image) [3-513Mt2]; a pair of crisp tintype portraits of a man and woman housed in either side of the same case [3-496t2]; and a tinted albumen headshot portrait of a lovely woman by J. Taylor, New York. Taylor's imprint on verso [3-556].
