[POLITICS] Two posters including one for the 1932 Presidential campaign.
16 x 21.5 in. “Keep him on the job. / Hebert Hoover, Republican Candidate for President.” Herbert Hoover (1874-1964, President 1929-1933).
13.25 x 19.75 in. Unidentified character, half goat, riding on a circus train. On his back he has a portfolio, engraving tools, brushes, and gardening tools. There is a blue rosette ribbon at his waist and he is playing a flute. Upper left is a “coat of arms” with a shield with “ETZKY” below, above on one side is harlequin, the other side a jester, at top a monkey holding a jester rattle(?). Upper right is Latin “Parcite quos irrisi; primum ego memetip sum irrideo.” (Spare them whom I ridicule….) With small “Pilules Dorees” (golden pills) above the plaque in an oval. Lower right “Fac-Simile l’Aquarelles Becquei, Paris.”
