An unknown Republican subject holding a large American flag with the names of Republican presidents and candidates on the hoist: "Grant - Garfield - Blaine - Harrison." A large patriotic ribbon is fastened to the subject's coat.

The subject wears a kepi with an "MFC" badge, possibly that of a local militia or veteran organization. He wears six ribbons and badges upon his chest, most featuring Benjamin Harrison including an example from the 1889 Inauguration. -- Full-length studio portrait of a young boy leaning against a studio pillar upon which rests a "Harrison & Morton" hat.
