An Unusual Chinese Red, Blue, and Yellow Overlay Semi-Opaque White Glass Amphora Vase and Stand

清中期 涅白地套蓝红料花蝶图柳叶瓶
the opaque white body having high rounded shoulders emerging from a delicately tapered body, with a columnar neck rising to a slightly everted mouth rim, all supported by an integral stand, carved of transparent sapphire blue with four cantilevered ruyi form feet. Carved through an overlay of cobalt blue mottled red and yellow with descending branches of peony and prunus punctuated by butterflies.
Height 8 3/4 in., 22.2 cm.
