(Politics) MITCHELL, Martha (1918-1976). A hand signed, personal letter from Martha Mitchell.
“October 6, 1971.
Dear Miss Zwecker:
I am truly sorry I was unable to attend the luncheon Tuesday, October 5th at the Ambassador East in honor of the Plaza Beautification Committee. I certainly missed seeing all my friends in the Chicago Press.
Unfortunately, due to unforeseen and extenuating circumstances, it was necessary that I remain in my room most of the afternoon and evening awaiting a call from Washington.
I plan to return from Chicago in the not too distant future and I sincerely hope we will be able to get together then.
Sincerely,
Martha Mitchell.”
