An Embroidered Silk Wall Panel

清中期 石青緞地綉博古圖鏡框
of rectangular section, the ground of midnight blue worked with metallic gilt wrapped threads and silk floss in a palette of variegated blues to show various antiquities, flower vases, and auspicious symbols organized vertically around a central lotus head surrounded by a stylized keyfret frame. The embroidery is largely worked with satin stitches and couched threads, with needleloop stitches rendering the texture of a Buddha's hand citron and detailing flowerheads.
