Sold to benefit the Art Acquisition Fund at the Indianapolis Museum of Art at Newfield.

This lot includes nine hats.

THE FIRST

Condition:

THE FIRST
The overall condition is very good structurally with the net veil pulling free from the hat and a few holes.

THE SECOND
The overall condition is good structurally though the two brims are separating at the back left and the veil is torn free from the brim with holes.

THE THIRD
The overall condition is fair with some color bleed onto the felt from the red crocheted flowers and a small hole on the brim on left front next to a grazed spot.

THE FOURTH
The overall condition is good with some soiling along inner crown and some loose threads at center back on the grosgrain ribbon.

THE FIFTH
The overall condition is poor with several splits and holes throughout the lace but most noticeable in the back.

THE SIXTH
The overall condition is fair with some deterioration of the fabric flowers and holes in the net veil.

THE SEVENTH
The overall condition is good though there are some minor holes in the net veil.

THE EIGHTH
The overall condition is poor as the net has a giant hole at the top where it attaches to the bow.

THE NINTH
The overall condition is poor as there are several holes in the net and the elephant cutouts are curling.
