Ink and color with gold on silk, each signed and with one seal, mounted on board with gold flecking, framed (two as a pair), matted, and glazed. Comprising:
-Walking Along a River Bank By Full Moon
-Boats Under a Bridge
-Gathering at Asakusa Temple in the Snow

Dennett embarked on journalism around 1908, and went on to become a distinguished historian and professor, publishing Americans in East Asia in 1922. He was Chief of the Division of Publications and Editor (1924-1929) and Historical Advisor (1929-1932) at the U. S. State Department. He chaired the new School of Public and International Affairs at Princeton University (1931-1934) and won a Pulitzer prize in 1934 for his biography of John Hay. He served as the 9th president of Williams College, Williamstown, Massachusetts, from 1934-1937.
