A Pair of 'Butterflies and Wisteria' Small Dishes, Kinkozan Workshop, and a Fine Satsuma-Type Pottery Koro with Pierced Cover, Meiji Period
Meiji Period (1868-1912)
The dishes centered by a dense group of graduated butterflies against a gold-stippled ground, bordered by pendant wisteria sprays, underside with workshop marks in gold. The censer with a double-walled honeycomb-pierced cover; the base with elephant head handles and fret-carved shoulder, underside with indistinct maker's mark, all raised on three goblin mask feet.
