A Group of Six Chinese Bamboo Wrist Rests
竹雕臂擱六件
Comprising: a small rest carved with insects and crayfish, signed Yushan dao; a rest carved with mountain and pavilion, unsigned; a rest carved with cabbage and root, inscribed; a small rest carved in low relief with seal script Shan jing ri chang lu mei chazi; a rest, the skin partially retained, carved with three Lohan, inscribed and bearing a Jinxu date, probably 1874 or 1934, a seal lower left; the sixth rest carved in low relief with a figure sweeping before a pavilion in a mountainous landscape, unsigned; all with Japanese textile sleeves, and an outer fabric wrapper, accompanied by a Japanese letter listing the rests and attributing past ownership to "Prince Su".
