Significant deposits of surface dirt and dust; canvas is lined and has small, circular bumps in scattered areas throughout, likely a result of the lining process; a few instances of frame abrasions with associated paint losses along extreme edges; frame liner material has deposited a slight adhesive layer along all extreme edges, only visible while painting is out of frame; very minor areas of drying craquelures within the white impastos and red background in the lower left corner; areas of inpainting within the background visible under raking light; under a reflective varnish layer. Under UV light: a large area of inpainting in the center right background, extending approximately 12 inches along the edge and at its widest approximately 6 inches; additional inpainting scattered along all edges and a smaller area of inpainting to the right of the woman's right shoulder; small areas of inpainting within the woman's bangs and headband and within the folds of the pink cloth she holds; minor areas of inpainting scattered through her dress and the balustrade.
