Raphaël Chatroux
VP, Head of Department, Impressionist & Modern Art
Estimate$5,000 – $7,000
This work is recorded in the Archivio Bissier as Bildt.S. 59-Ekta 225.
Provenance:
Private Collection, New York.
Framed: 18 x 20 x 2 in.
The work is in overall good condition. The canvas was unevenly cut and has some stray strings and fibers along the edges. There are pinholes at the four corners and there is loss at the extreme bottom left corner. The canvas has some soft handling creases, for instance at the top right corner. The top edge of the canvas has some yellowing, and there are scattered pinpoint spots of soiling, for instance at the bottom right. Under UV light, the top edge of the paper and the bottom right corner have some uneven areas that fluoresce, but do not appear to be from inpainting. Additional images available upon request.
