Note:

In 1668, Louis XIV commissioned ninety-two carpets from the Savonnerie manufactory for the Louvre's Grand Galerie. The carpets were never installed as intended, but some were used by Louis XIV's successors for special occasions. In February 2026 the Mobilier National displayed its thirty-two carpets from the ambitious commission at the Grand Palais in Paris. The Metropolitan Museum of Art holds three others, exhibited through March 5, 2028 as part of its exhibition A King's Carpet: Louis XIV and the Savonnerie.
