The works include a single bell and a musical wheel which strikes eight bells (not tubes). There are three weights, a regular pendulum (not mercury), a case key and a winding crank. The clock winds and ticks but the clock has not been tested for timekeeping. The clock does not strike when the hands are advanced. We do not have a clock specialist on staff who can determine what is wrong with the musical strike. There is a strike/silent switch above the dial but it does not seem to work properly. It is not known what tune the music wheel plays. The case in good cosmetic condition with very few signs of wear from normal use and moving. A small chip to one corner of the hood, and one finial detached but present.
