Group of approx. 10 items related to Spanish American War veteran, Corporal Warren S. Clark, who served with Co. I, 13th Regiment Minnesota Infantry, including a US Bureau of Pensions document from 1922 issued to Clark's widow, as well as formal and informal photographs of unidentified soldiers, civilians, and locations abroad. The subjects of the photographs are unidentified but were housed together in the same folder with Clark's pension document, indicating that they previously belonged to Clark.

[With]: 19 photographs, 4 x 9 1/2 in., on 6 1/2 x 12 1/2 in. cardstock mounts, each with verso ink stamp of Barker's Studio, Burlington, VT. Some with applied paper card taped to mount verso with the following printed information, "Loaned by Company F, First Infantry VNG, Northfield, Vermont." Several cards also include a typed caption identifying the scene. The images document the Vermont National Guard at Camp Colonel Webb in Burlington, VT, ca 1896, and include views of camp, field exercises, and ceremonies. (Images overall good, with occasional fading and soiling. Edge and corner wear to mounts, including soiling, toning, pinholes to margins, some chipping and areas of loss.)

[With]: 25 photographs, 4 3/4 x 6 1/2 in., on 7 x 9 in. cardstock mounts, uncredited and uncaptioned, ca late 19th-early 20th century. The photographs contain a combination of occupational scenes and views of soldiers engaged in various activities, many taken at camp, such as shooting practice, riding in horse-drawn wagons, and more.

[With]: 29 photographs, 3 5/8 x 4 3/4 in., on 5 1/2 x 6 1/2 in. cardstock mounts, uncredited, with manuscript captions on verso identifying the various scenes. The inscriptions indicate that the photographs document the experiences of Co. H, 51st Iowa Volunteers, during the Spanish American War, including views of the regiment departing from the Presidio in San Francisco, traveling by ship, as well as their time stationed in the Philippines. Scenes of the soldiers at camp, in the trenches, and spending time with the locals are enclosed, as well as a view of a ship identified as the "Monterey, one of Dewey's monitors off Cavite." (Images are faded and toned, but details are still visible.) Accompanying the photographs is a cello "Welcome Home" button for the "Fifty-First Iowa US.V.," which mustered out in November 1899.

Chidwick, "3rd and last Catholic Priest, Chaplain Hero of the US Battleship Maine, blown up in Havana Harbor," as printed in lower margin. -- Cabinet card of of two heavily armed soldiers identified on verso as brothers Arthur and Philip Mooradian. -- 3 1/4 x 4 1/4 in. cyanotype of the Spanish American War-era Torpedo Boat Ericsson at Key West. -- 3 photographs, approx. 5 x 7 in., on cardstock mounts, showing troops in the Philippines, some with captions on versos. Scenes include "Capture of a Filipino General," "Block House," and possibly members of the 7th US Cavalry. -- "6 x 4 in. silver gelatin print of a cross honoring Pvt. Edward C. Grahamer, U.S. Aero Squad, 5/2/18, almost certainly a World War I casualty. -- And others.
