Founded in Paris in 1827, Mauboussin is one of the most prestigious historic French jewelry maisons. Initially established by M. Rocher and Jean-Baptiste Noury, Noury’s nephew, Georges Mauboussin, renamed the firm in 1922. Despite its founding nearly a century earlier, Mauboussin first gained international acclaim in the 1920s and 1930s. After winning a Grand Prix at the 1925 Paris Arts Exhibition, the firm opened the doors to its flagship location at Place Vendôme in Paris, where it operates to this day. Mauboussin became renowned for its Art-Deco and Retro pieces produced in the highest quality metals and vibrant colored gemstones, attracting European royalty, premier collectors, and maharajas. Its iconic designs included floral motifs, bright enamel, and geometric patterns. Following the stock market crash in 1929, Mauboussin New York was purchased by Trabert & Hoeffer. Under Trabert & Hoeffer-Mauboussin, the firm expanded across the United States, attracting new collectors and iconic Hollywood stars, such as Marlene Dietrich. The brand continues to design and sell a wide range of dazzling jewels, and their vintage pieces bring remarkable results in the secondary market.
