Marzo Paris, a French high-jewelry firm, was established in 1901 by Lorenzo Marzo. Marzo, born in Spain, was the nephew of Francisco Marzo, jeweler to the Spanish Crown, learning important skills at an early age. After arriving in Paris in 1892, Marzo spent nearly a decade refining his talents before opening his own firm. The brand gained notoriety for its exquisite Edwardian and Art Deco designs and eventually became the supplier to King Alfonson XIII of Spain. Marzo’s pieces are known for their bold geometry, colorful gemstones, and fine craftsmanship. At the 1925 Exposition des Art Décoratifs, Marzo received a Grand Prix, exhibiting alongside Van Cleef & Arpels, Lacloche, and Mauboussin. After his death in 1929, his son Rafael assumed control of the firm. Eventually, most of the exceptional yet rare pieces were absorbed into private collections and today remain highly collectible.

Georges L’Enfant, born in 1887, was a master French jeweler based in Paris. Born into a family of jewelers, L’Enfant studied jewelry at a young age and served several apprenticeships before establishing his own firm at the beginning of the 20th Century. Considered the “goldsmith’s goldsmith,” L’Enfant’s workshop was renowned for its intricate goldwork, especially braided and woven textures. His atelier played an important role in iconic Place Vendôme and Rue de la Paix brands, producing exquisite pieces for houses like Cartier, Hermès, Van Cleef & Arpels, and Marzo Paris. The firm remained in L’Enfant’s family throughout the 20th Century, collaborating with Verger Frères during the Art Deco era, and Vacheron Constantin and other high-jewelry firms during the 50’s, 60’s, and 70’s. Today L’Enfant’s pieces remain highly collectible for their finely woven textures, unique chain styles, and combination of different colored gold.
