solid and sturdy, and presents well; the back showing signs of having been built-in to a room, with a rounded form constructed of lathe and plaster, one lathe board with break (piece detached but present); right-facing bottom edge piece of molding to pilaster detached but present; upper right-facing corner of cornice with early replaced element; small segment of loss to center of cornice, and with small particle board support nailed along top of piece behind cornice (possibly for support or display purposes); includes another detached but present wood board (unclear where this originally was installed); bearing a nice patinated paint surface to exterior, showing evidence of multiple campaigns of paint, including multiple paint colors, scattered flaking and losses; the interior of display shelves with a more recent sponged paint treatment, likely meant to cover previous heavy paint applications, with some areas of cracking / peeling; door opens smoothly and retains original brass hardware
