Henry Dunay (1935-2023) was an iconic and innovative American jewelry designer, known for his sculptural and uniquely textured pieces. Founding his New York-based studio in 1965, Henry Dunay first achieved notoriety for producing one-of-a-kind pavé diamond designs and later for his well-known collections featuring metals designed in a variety of meticulously crafted textures. He is particularly known for his signature ‘Sabi’ finish, a hand-etched textured inspired by the Japanese wabi-sabi. Throughout his life Dunay received many awards for his designs, including four Diamond International Awards. His work is highly sought after by collectors and has been displayed in several prestigious museums.
