The desk is sturdy and attractive overall. The leather top has old, darkened discoloration and patterns of wear from use that add to the patina. The brass hardware shows signs of refitting in the screw holes but has a darkened patina on the front, so it is not clear whether it has been replaced. The legs are fitted with casters, and the drawers are functional on both sides.
