lined; with cracquelure commensurate with age; UV light reveals some scattered areas of retouching, including an area to upper left corner to treeline, some smaller areas to sky and treeline, several areas to foreground and underneath horse, an area to sky just next to horse tail, and some areas along perimeter including upper and right edge; with some streaky varnish that fluoresces green, to lower left corner; some subtle minute areas of paint loss along edges right against frame border; frame appears to be at least 19th-century, and presents nicely, with only a few minor losses to gilding commensurate with age
