very finely worked, in a remarkable state of presentation given the age; with a small tear along upper right-facing corner of arbor, and with a possible tiny repair to one leaf stalk along lower right-facing side of arbor (left side); with a few dark water stains, most prominently to bottom edge (especially left-facing corner); the black fabric possibly later; the frame and backboard are period, the frame exhibiting some typical cracking to veneer, but all appears to be stable
