with a nice figured surface, having a consistent finish; the pole with a few evident repairs- some spliced or patched mends, and with some probable repairs at the upper rim of lower shaft--with some fill evident at base of pole; the oval screen with some typical age cracks to wood grain, with a patch to edge and some probable mends to applied molding, the reverse showing signs that the brass screw mount was positioned in a few places--with at least one other ghost mark with former screw holes visible; the flip-top candle-stand with a couple mends to molded edge, the back showing signs of a previous brass mount- holes visible; the feet with some scuffing and scraping commensurate with age and use; the top of the pole likely had a finial, which is not present
