Moderate deposits of surface dirt and dust; canvas is lined; a horizontal seam extending through the center of the sky; network of hairline craquelures throughout the surface; pinpoint white debris adhered to the surface in the center right of the background; a thin line of paint loss, approximately 1 inch, in the skirt of Mary Magdalene; areas of inpainting scattered throughout, visible under normal viewing conditions. Under UV light: extensive inpainting through Christ's body, face and drapery, as well as the face, neck, and hands of Mary Magdalene; scattered areas of inpainting in the lower right corner; a small area of inpainting to the right of Christ's right shoulder; additional extensive lines of inpainting to address craquelures throughout the background.
