The Chicago Evening Post was a daily newspaper founded in 1865 and continuing to run until 1875, when it became the Post & Mail. The present issue was printed while the embers of the Great Chicago Fire were still smoldering, and its contents detail relief efforts and news of the event, as well as an announcement that, due to the destruction of the Evening Post offices, operations would be moved to another location.
