refinished, but with a nice rich color and consistent surface; the interior with probable alteration to lowest shelf- cut and reconfigured- with evidence that the lowest shelf extended all the way to the right side panel originally; left-facing volute to cornice with old loss, the fretwork with some mends and repaired breaks- evident from behind including some glue, nail, and one screw attachment; left-facing door with a later applied strip along right-facing edge, and with a couple minor alterations to lock slot for functionality; with patches surrounding hinges and lock slot of slant front; a small loss to cockbeading to one loper, and with a few minor occasional patches to drawer face cockbeading; feet appear to be ok, with old blocking evident, the front right-facing foot facing with patch; brasses are replaced, with patches over former holes, and the holes to interior of drawers have been filled; the cartouche with a few knicks or chips to pointed ends, and with a few repaired breaks; includes two keys which do function
