one side engraved with emblazoned eagle and shield over shaking hands and floral spray with rose, thistles, and shamrocks, the other side engraved with inscription, "Presented/ to/ John Graham,/ by his friends in/ Paterson, New Jersey,/ as a/ Token of Respect/ for his worth as a/ Man/ and his talents as a/ Poet/ 25th June/ 1839".
