John Lord Nason was born in Kennebunkport, Maine to James Nason and Phebe Lord. On October 10, 1840, he married Susan Litchfield Chipman (of Raymond, Maine) in Medford, Massachusetts. They had seven children. They lived in Boston, and the couple are buried in Kennebunk, Maine.
