comprising a canvas ditty bag containing various tools including a sail needle case containing two steel sailmakers' needles, a ball of string, a block of beeswax, an iron hook, and some rope; five leather sailmakers' palms, one punched with monogram, "V.G.N."; eight carved wood or sailor-carved netting needles; two turned wood scratch awls; two incised wood needle cases, the smaller one containing steel sailmakers' needles marked James Smith & Sons, the cork stopper bearing label for P.J. Noyes Company, Lancaster, New Hampshire; and a wood marking gauge.
Length 6 1/8 inches (longest needle case).
